Lab Assistant, EKG Technician\/Phlebotomist<\/h4>\n

As with most jobs in the medical field, phlebotomists are in demand due to the growing need for Allied Health Career Professionals. On a daily basis, physicians order blood testing for their patients in order to run tests and identify health problems. The main duty of phlebotomists is drawing blood and preparing it for lab testing. Phlebotomists play an important role in the Healthcare Arena. They are responsible for collecting specimens such as blood and other bodily fluids from patients. These tasks are prepared for physicians to test for health reasons and to insure their patients are in good health. In order to become a phlebotomist, you will need to be able to work with different types of people in the medical field and feel comfortable with drawing blood\u2026At IBT our Lab Assistant, EKG Technician\/Phlebotomist program will prepare you for what is needed in order to succeed in a variety of entry level positions.<\/p>\n

Once you graduate from the Lab Assistant, EKG Technician\/Phlebotomist program, you will be ready to take on a career as an EKG Technician, Lab Assistant or Phlebotomist. IBT Students obtain a great amount of knowledge and are able to perform many important procedures after completing this program. These laboratory procedures are focused on hematology, bacteriology, urinalysis, electrocardiography, phlebotomy and also vital signs. There is \u201chands-on training\u201d for more experience in this program and will give you the experience needed to succeed!<\/p>\n

Not only will you be prepared for tasks inside the laboratory, but also with your interpersonal skills. You will develop the communication skills required to communicate with patients as well as others in the workplace.
